I have done exactly as described. I was part way through my roadster chassis build when I was given a much more complete live axel chassis. I then proceeded to chop off any tubes behind the seat back frame and re-instate with an IRS based as per the roadster. There are a few things to consider though;

The live axle book chassis is 2" ? narrower and 1" shallower - Roadster bodywork wil not fit.

The seat back frame is of slightly different angle - some changes to diff mount frame are needed.

The front frame may also be slightly different - I had to make shorter top wishbones.

Hope this helps, Chris
