Two Podiums at Donnington
Had a great weekend at Donnington in the caterhams R300 superlights.
Qualified 4th and should have done better, pole was within reach. Solid second in the first race with a full on battle to hold position for 20 minutes. Leader got away by 5 seconds. Second to first off the line second race, changing of positions throughout race, last lap in the lead second from last corner, driver had a small lock up into the hairpin and lost position so in the end another second. best results of a very hard season. Donners Trophies by mjb22001, on Flickr We are competing against very well financed drivers in professional teams (they pay more than my entire build budget just for support in one weekend), the guy we beat to 2nd in the first race rocked up in a 2 year old ferrari gives you some idea! The guy in 3rd ex F3000 driver. So all in well chuffed finally have the handling absolutely nailed in the top flight of 7 racing! |
Well done, just show's money does not make the man.;)

Should have said, not me driving unforunately I'm just the team manager which puts me in charge of set up so still happy! Its taken most of the season to catch up with the top boys (and one girl!) but now we are there think we are there to stay! One more race at Silverstone all out for the win!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHWFO75RJZ0 full race video from our onboard. The r300's really shift. Gutting when you look at the last lap into melbourne hairpin, my driver checked his mirrors and missed his braking point by a foot or two, lost him the race! but that level of concentration for 30 minutes is immence. I rode passenger round donnington and was happy to get out after about 4 laps! |
