Haynes mx5 donor stripping
Hi everybody
I have a mk2 mazda mx5 that I am stripping for my son and my Haynes roadster build.:) I have a question about the parts I will need - as far as I know they are engine, gearbox, prop, diff, wiring loom, ignition switch and stalks , steering column, speedo, front and rear hubs and brakes, handbrake . Is that all I will need ? Am I missing something ? I recall something about a charcoal canister on the fuel? I need to get rid of the shell to the scrappy as the boss isn't appreciative of it on the drive !! Thanks in advance |

I junked the charcoal canister so you don't need that. Don't forget the wheels! Welcome to the forum David |
all the nuts and bolts you can find, the fuel lines and the clips that hold them in, the brake lines and the fitting off them, fuel pump from tank.
I just kept using bits from my MX5 till I could think of nothing else. |
Before the shell goes don't forget to cut the VIN plate out of the engine bay and take pictures of the factory production stickers inside the door jams.

thanks everybody- I most probably hadn't forgot the wheels
seems like I've got it all off then:) I did phone dvla about scrapping the chassis and they said there was no reason to keep it and sorn it - just photocopy the log book and get the destruction certificate, I have photographed everything including my 10 year old son taking the engine out ( i'm not a slave driver !) |

cut the plates out and sorn it so it wont come back and bite you later just my opinion |
