rear wheel arches fitting help

Hi,

Im in the middle of fitting my saturn bodywork, im at the rear arch stage.
Ive mocked them up but i cant seem to get them centred to the wheel.
Ive ligned the bottoms of the arches with the sides but i seem to have a big gap in front of the wheel and almost touching at the back.

Can anyone give me some help please?

Ive included some photos, which shows the problems.

thanks Mike

Hi mike. I to am currently fitting my bodywork, and have also seen how gus fitted his.
Have you still got the curved metal plates that go from the seat back to chassis top rails fitted?

If so I would say that the rear tub is fitted to far forwards as you don't need them when fitting the grp rear end. The problem now is that you have already cut the side panels, making it difficult to move everything backwards without it being obvious.

Hope this helps.

I would say from those pictures you have got the rear panel 2 maybe 3 inches to far forward. The radius starts at the edge of the roll bar plate then curves downwards. You have got it forward of the roll bar plate.

At least that's how it looks to me in your pictures. By taking the panel backwards you will be left with gap where it meets the side panel. Have you tried swapping the wings round? Some people do fit them the other way round so the angled edge is at the rear of the car rather than the front...worth a try if nowt else.

Yes i would agree with Mark there Mike it does look like the rear panel is too far forward, do you have the extra box section fitted for the rear panel from RS14. Once the rear panel is moved back the rear of the wing will be approx 4" from the rear of the panel and the radius of the wing will line be parallel to the curve on the cockpit area of the side panel and about 2" from it.

Hope that helps.....Andrew

The side panels are too short as well. They should end on that diagonal tube so you have somewhere to fasten it to.
