VIN Plate

Does anyone know what weights I should put on the identification plate?

I know when skov did his he only had to show manufacturer and the VIN no but i have read the new IVA manual and it looks like the lot has to be added again?

Can anyone confirm whether this is the case and also what weights I should put in if required.

Hi Dave ...see note 2 on statutory plates ....it states they do not have to be present but if are should be in order shown in required standard note 6 so don't bother (i'm not)

Are you just going with the vin stamped/welded into the chasis?

yes that as well but you still need a vin"plate" pop riveted on say the engine bulkhead or easy to see place.... something like this

MANUFACTURER D BOLAM ENGINEERING

MODEL HAYNES ROADSTER

VIN SABT*************

The only mandatory information is manufacturer and VIN number. If you put anything else on there you're asking for trouble!

This is what I did and the tester was perfectly happy with it:

I've been reading the manual again and it says you cannot use the letter O however the vin I was given from the dvla office has both letter o's and number 0's. has anyone else cam across this?

They all start SABTVR0 from the DVLA. They say it 'Vee Arr Oh' but it will be entered as a Zero.

It's been typed on the letter as Os and 0s so will just make them all zeros
