Digital Dash

Hi Gents

Well the time has come to invest in a digital dash for my roadster. So what is the most popular, most practical, or any bargain hunters know of any supplier I should look at?

I have been thinking about this model, its appears to be the same as the model ashg purchased. Is it good value or product?

Spike
the guy at digital speedos is called a jon
he is an absolutely cracking guy to deal with
Spud and me both bought RX2 ,s off him at the show .
since then they have brought out the RX2n+ this does away with the stick on magnets etc and plugs straight in to the gearbox drive.
one fone call to jon and £20 and the upgrade was on its way
you cant beat that for service
HTH
cheers les g

My type 9 close ratio box has an electrical speedo drive output, will I be able to use it?

I have a picture of the unit attached to a gearbox if you would like to see if you can use it. And i also have his phone number if you need it.

Thanks Les, I sent an email today and he recommends that it maybe best to use the taditional magnetic bolt unless someone has a spare worm gear and cap for the type 9 gearbox to replace what I have now

Hi Spike,

I've got the rx2n, as Les says it does away with the stick on magnets. The magnets built in, I've got mine so it picks up the prop shaft bolts.

It seems to work ok, I'll have to see how accurate once its on the rollers.

The clock only goes up to 10k rpm as well.

Cheers Daz,

How does it pick up the signal for the rev counter? Can you use the takeoff to the orignal sierra clocks? Or do you need to connect to an HT lead somehow?

Hi spike
it can pick up a tacho signal using several different ways
one is off a coil pack
one is off a wire wrapped around a plug lead
and i cant remember any more the destructions are up the garage
i,ll look for you tomorrow if you want

Hi Spike,

as above, mine is taken from the coil (edis), I'm also using megajolt and I do believe you can take a feed from that?

They give you a couple of leads in the box, so should be able to knock something up and get it working.
