business is booming

hello there,

since scrap prices are so high i went for a little weigh in at the weekend, came away with a nice little fund for uni next year and about £400 to spend on the car.

iv priced up:
radiator
fan
column bush and bearing
paint for chassis
to about £135

so my next question is are there any roll bar suppliers out there? and what kind of moneys would i be looking at or the main hoop, cross brace and 2 1.5m (ish) lengths of the same material as the main tube to make some stays?

also is there someone who could supply some pedals, pedal mounts and bushes? already have the main shape of the box made.

what thickness ally are people using for:
the floor
transmission tunnel
seat back
fuel tank
and how much should i expect to pay for the sheets? dont want to get robbed!

in relation to brake balance i know an adjustable bias bar will fail the IVA but how about a solid one? as i will be using discs all around and would really like to be able to swap to an adjustable one for track days and 'wot not'

i think thats it for now

anyone got any thoughts?

Hi,
There has been quite a lot of threads lately about floor, aluminium or steel sheets, easy to find on the forum.
About the pedal, there is a group order for pedal set, you can check this thread:

Solid bias balance bar ? Never heard about that, have been in the "braking business" for a while, and I can't see how it can work, except putting an adjustable one, adjusting for a good balance, and then put a solid one with the exact same position. Sounds strange to me but I can be wrong... Or just trying different front/rear master cylinder sizes... but it looks very complicated. Can you tell us more about what you plan to do exactly please ?
Cheers.

the brakes are still only a thinking point at the moment, i would ideally like to be able to adjust the bias for track and drift but not have to do any major alterations to the pedal box after the test.

not 100% sure on how it will work yet just trying to get a second opinion and maybe a few good ideas.
