Wishbone adjuster nuts
Am I right in thinking that the camber adjuster on the wishbones at the back need to have a locking nut of some kind for iva? If so can anyone advise what size it is (I think its something like M18?) and not having the car or book infront of me at work, I can't remember if there's something similar at the front so I'd need 4 nuts in total? I'd like to find em on ebay today to get them before the weekend to fit them while I've got the wheels off to fit my body panels :)

It's not needed at the rear as it can't rotate.

If you do put them on the rear they will stop any small movement of the adjuster against the threads in the wishbone. Might lead to a knocking on the as the threads loosen up.
Rear - M20 x 2.5 Front - M18 x 1.5 Half buts are better. AndyH |
Ok well I think I'll put them on just to be on the safe side. Will these do the trick from a stainless grade point of view and the right type that you're refering to?

They are fine Brian even though the M18 are expensive.

Tell me about it, know anywhere else to pick a couple up a bit cheaper?

We usually get them supplied with the drag links. Get them from Rally Designs but buy in bulk for a bit of discount. You can buy them each for £6.50 + Vat or give them a ring and they might sell you a pair of half nuts on their own.

Do you know if they're right handed? Came across these which are a bit more reasonable?

A pack of 5 M18 X1.5 half nuts can be had a tad cheaper here.
M18 half nuts You could always share the cost with another builder ;) Did have some spare ones here but have passed them on to other builders on the forum :) |
M18 x 1.5mm half nuts from our local guy are 42p each but if you have 25 they are 25p each, he is not the cheapest but is the nearest. might be worth hunting about and doing a group buy as that is a lot cheaper.

i would have liked to see them if i was mot'ing a compnent like that when i used to test only a matter of time before the vibration makes it get all slack it is a big thread and has quiet a bit of free play movement a lock nut will keep the thread preloaded and frim you can always cut down a full nut to a half nut if none are availble (a full nut may even fit if there is room) |

Full nuts fit too, well on mine they do anyway! |
ayjay,
You have a PM.... Bertie. |
Thanks to this thread, have just got another bit of confirmation that I need to lock-nut the rear camber adjusters - ordered a couple of eBay and hoping that I can get them to fit in with the wheel at the correct camber...
