Headlights distance

How much should be the distance between the headlights center to center?
I am ready to weld on the headlight brackets on the chassis, so this distance will be much helpful to me. Thanks!

Its not measured centre to centre. Its measured from the outside edge of the bodywork to the outside of the headlamp. So this depends on what headlamps you are using and what rear wings you have. This us what the IVA examiner will check from. Its all in the IVA manual. The IVA manual says your headlight, outside edge, should be no more that 400mm from the outside of the bodywork

What is the required length of the headlight brackets?

If you tell me your bodywork and the headlamps you are using, I'll be able to work it out.

My bodywork will probably be the equinox and the headlights i will use will not be the classic big ones but something like the one's used by David_17 here: http://davesroadster.blogspot.com/

Assuming its a 5 3/4" headlight unit and assuming the Equinox bodywork is around 5' 8" at its widest and assuming your headlight bracket is local to the shock mount, your headlight bracket, centre to centre should be around 880mm. This would put the outside edge of the headlamp 350mm from the edge. Meeting the IVA requirements. Its obviously up to you to ensure it doesn't interfere with the wheel on full lock.
