I have the same setup and can confirm it does work but not had chance to find out how accurate it is. I also have an aftermarket one that came with the gauge though o all bases covered :D

Fuel ohms
US 240 empty 33 full

Euro 10 empty 180 full

I had to mod the Sierra sender as it read backwards
Removed feed wire from variable resistor and re soldered to the other end
It now works with my Smiths/Caerbont Telemetrix gauge although it reeds full early and never reaches empty
One day I'll replace it with a dip tube but for now its usable

you might find a gauge to match your sender or why not use a sender that matches the gauge. :D
