ford galaxy 2.3
 

what engine is it in a ford galaxy 2.3 it says on the log book it is a zetec but it has chain driven cams on it and look totally diffrent to a zetec. also would a type nine fit it ?

Aren't the galaxies fitted with the vw engine?

i was looking on ebay and looked up rs2000 engine and they look identical if so what would the engine be ?

The Galaxy used predominantly Volkswagen mechanicals, most notably the 2.8-litre VR6 petrol engine from the top versions of the VW Golf, as well as VW's 1.9-litre turbodiesel unit. Initially only the 2.0-litre Straight-4 petrol version used a Ford powerplant - this derived from the Ford I4 DOHC engine. In later years this unit was supplemented by a 2.3-litre 16-valve version first seen in the facelifted Ford Scorpio. This engine was transversially mounted (as with the MKV Escort RS2000) as opposed to longitudinal mounting like in the Ford Scorpio.

did i answer my own question lol. if it is a bored out version of the rs2000 would it mate up with a type 9 ??

The bolt pattern is right for the type 9, I think you'd have to mix and match clutch/flywheel components.
