Well done Ash

Fantastic progress there Ash.

A bit of high quality work going on there, looking brilliant  :)

My neighbours call my workshop " Frankensteins lab " what with all of the ark welding flashes that can be seen from the skylights :D

Lucky with all my neighbours, none of them seem to object to the noise I make.

On the bright side, you must be nearing the end of the noisy stuff.

If you want to wind him up, tell him " I am being quiet, just wait until I start tuning the engine " :D

That looks awesome. First time I noticed the rear modifications. I know what a royal pain it is to try and fit a fuel tank in between those rear rails. It makes so much more sense doing it your way..... I need to pay more attention.

I've got the same clio rad off ebay as you, so I'll probably just make my mounts the same.

The car just looks brilliant. Thats tremendous progress. Only shame is when I buy the mag now, I already know how far you've got :D

Excellent work Ash! Wish I had the luxury of using the back garden like that, been sweating my balls off in the garage in all this hot weather! Also shows me I need to pull my finger out :)

Nice work.

Out of interest (and I don't have the book here with me) what size of ally panel did you need for the floor? And how much ally did you order?

As for the noise - I have had to put up with an entire weekend of reggae on speakers that befit the Notting Hill Carnival - so I moved all my grinding OUT of the garage and into the garden.

i managed to get two side pannels the longer passengerside transmission tunnel pannel and a little top pannel out of one sheet of 8x4.

i ordered 3 sheets of ali is its enough to do all the ali panels and may stretch to a fuel tank if your lucky.

the floor pannel used just over half a sheet of 8x4

Cheers Ash.

I intend on the chequerplate stuff for the floor.
3 sheets is what I vaguely remember working it out to.

As for a fuel tank, I think I will buy one ready made. I am not good enough welding ally with the MIG, and at £1k+ for an AC/DC TIG it makes sense to just have one made. I could always make it out of steel, but I like shiny ally:D

im lucky enough to have an ac/dc tig so will make my own if i have enough ali left over.
