bike shocks?

Hey guys, happy new year to everyone

Been doing a bit of investigation into bike shocks as there is only a couple of threads on the subject. Found some adjustable shocks measuring 365mm eye to eye and also replacement springs available. Would I be right in thinking that I would still need to be looking for 250lb and 350lb replacements for a sierra 1.8cvh build? They are 75mm at the widest point so should fit in nicely. Does anyone have any more info on the subject as they would come in at about 220 for a full set against double that for normal setup?

I once discovered that the Rear spring on my Moto was 500+ lbs.
That's pretty Beefy.. but then it holds up both Bike and Lout.
The springs on my Old (and long gone) Lotus Series 3 were in the 100/150 lb range IF I remember correctly.
How come such heavy springs are needed ?

The springs on the Caterham/Lotus are more upright than on the Roadster, so the Roadster suspension has more leverage.
