Haynes Shaft Length

Im trying to sort some drive shafts for my haynes roadster, ive made the wishbones to the correct length to take standard wishbones

i have a distance when level between the flanges of 490mm and 450mm (100mm bolt on shafts)

the shaft lengths is can find are

520mm
466mm
480mm
508mm

anyone have any ideas?

Sierra or MX5 ?

Rosco 22nd June 2015 02:58 PM

Sierra, sorry

7 in diff or 7 1/2,they are two different lengths
Will check tonight or someone will be able to tell you length.
Just make sure you have the up to date as the whishbone lengths quoted were wrong by 10 mm iirc.

7 inch, yeah the wishbones are correct as I've already remade them, if you can let me no that's great

Depends what type of ends are fitted ,lobro or large nut on the end.
795 for the lft and 835 for the rht would be right for the ones with a nut on the end ie original sierra.

Lobro have two six bolt flange's on either end .

yeah lobro

flyerncle 23rd June 2015 02:08 PM

Sorry Rosco, mine are the old type.
There is a fair amount of give in those joints in regard to sliding in and out.

No worries mate, I'm going to order a 508 and a 466, which are only 15mm ish to long, I think each cv joint has +- 15mm on travel anyway I think

I have the exact same problem how did the longer shafts go? I'm using the same 100mm Lsd lobro but in a 7 1/2 diffs.
