3D CAD file of Roadster Body
Hello,
you made a very impressive drawing Fabrun. I've done the body panels in 3D CAD, measured the panels I bought from Marc Fabbyglass Triton. I can send IGES or STEP or anything else to anyone who is interested. (not for commercial use) Just send me an e-mail address. Mind you, it's a 15 Mb file. |
Thanks Eddy very kind offer - PM sent

Fabrun
Those are fantastic CAD models - i've done some bits of the car myself. Used to use Solidworks as my day job but only use it now for homework - and helping out the drawing office when they are stuck :D Have you tried exporting the model as a 3d PDF? They look great and everyone then can have a play with the model. Cheers Dave |

A video I would like to see is this roadster being assembled in 2 minutes :) Better yet if the chassis was also assembled in sequence. Can you do that with your model?
|
like this video ?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=FR&h...eature=related i can, off course when the model will be finished i will thinking of it |
Amazing job Fabrun !
I am also building a LHD Haynes roadster (i'm from Belgium), and also using Solidworks for some parts. but what you are doing is just amazing ! Is there any chance you will share these drawings ? Could be verry helpfull for me. It's my first day on this forum, and for me, this is what Disneyworld is for my children !:D Thx ! |
Fabrun,Have you any ideas for rocker arm suspension.

Lots of credit to you there. I know how much skill you need and how much time something like that takes. I hope you are very proud of yourself. I would be :)

if it is the triton set then the only way i can see getting a BMW 4 pot under there is with ITB's and a dry sump with separate oil resivoir / cooler but that i gess is a different discussion. Thanks man. |
Hi Fabrun,
must agree with everyone else, you have done a great job. Have you only modeled the Roadster or have you done some drawings too? Here's my own drawing of the almost complete frame, also modeled in SolidWorks http://web.zone.ee/mopple/Raam.PDF. From my own made drawings and from the book plans my chassis fabrication starts on the next week. In one of your earlier post you said that you make living with SolidWorks. Could you be more specific? Madis |
Mopple, great drawings! I wish I had those before I started my chassis.
|
|
That looks great, do you want a job???;)
Bit too much camber on the front wheels though..... Cheers...AndyH |
thanks andyh
you need a 3d designer? for the camber, can you show me with a picture? |
|
Hi Fabrun,
Could you model one with a yellow nose, scuttle and wings please ? regards Peter |
