headlights

Hello all,
I've been reading up on headlight position having to be less than 400mm from the outside edge of the vehicle, so my question is does anyone know the width of the widest point of the car ie. The rear as I don't yet have the rear suspension and wheels on. Hope this makes sense, many thanks in advance.

The widest point of the car is across the rear arches, and that width is 169 cm (Saturn wings, ally tub).

Is that - at least part of the headlight has to be less than 400mm from the outside edge of the vehicle, or is it the centre line of the headlight or all of the headlight. Apologies if this is in the IVA manua - don't have it to hand and thought i'd ask...

The manual says:

"Lamp/reflector lateral position is measured from the extreme
outer edge of the vehicle (disregarding tyres, mirrors, lamps and
reflectors) to the edge of the illuminated area (or reflective surface on a
reflector) nearest that side of the vehicle."

Which I read as:

Edge of vehicle to edge of headlight lens.
