Type 9 Gearbox Oil Seals

Has anyone changed the front oil seal on a Type 9 Gearbox? (Bellhousing side).

I have removed the front clutch release bearing sleeve to reveal the circlip around the bearing, and renewed the clutch release sleeve seal within my new hydaulic clutch cylinder, but I am concern about withdrawing the main shaft in case it does not relocate or cause damage. Does this have another seal behind the bearing? My workshop manual is for a 4x4 box which is totally useless!

Also thinking about sucking out the old oil and topping it up while its on the bench.

I don't think there are any more oil seals behind the bearing Nick.

Looking at the Haynes manual & the type 9 gearbox, it only shows 1 oil seal in the release bearing sleeve & 1 o ring for the casting mating face.

As per picture ( Ignore the clutch fork pivot pin, that photo was one that I had handy )

Hope that helps :)

Just turn the box over on a drip tray to drain it.

Thanks Twin, that confirms I should have it sorted then as I have renewed this seal within the new clutch kit. I just purchased a cheap oil pump of ebay to fill the gearbox through its filler bung. Just need to turn up a clutch locator pin now.
