Track rod ends

hi all, i need some advice about track rod ends, i bought some off of the bay afew months ago but they do not fit my sierra hubs, when i put them into the hub the track rod end goes too deep and comes through the other side meaning i cant tighten the bolt up! i think at some point before i bought them they have been reamed larger.

i dont really want to buy a new hub (as i have stripped, derusted, degreased, reamed for the maxi ball joint & metal ready'd it:( ) so can anyone recomend me a solution? is there a Track rod end which is slightly wider where it enters the hub? or can someone think of another solution?

the hole in the hub for the track rod end is 14mm widest & 13mm smallest.

Thanks

you could try an rs2000 tre. do you not have the old ones that come off the sierra. measure the top and bottom holes and someone on the forum may be able to check the measurements for you.

As I happen to have my uprights in the kitchen ........

The lower hole (largest diameter) measures 13.7mm and the upper (smaller end) is 12.9mm

looks like yours are normal dan. may be worth investigating if you have the correct tre's

Thanks for the reply guys, out of interest are the RS2000 tre larger than the transit tre?

Think your problem is that you need a sierra or rs2000 tre, not a transit one.
You do however, need transit drag links, (the ones that go into the mushroom)

I stand to be corrected however...

There are a couple to suit the Escort, these are the ones you need,

As you can see they are the same dimensions as the Sierra. Which you could also use.
