Sticky backs...for cable fixing

Have tried a search but for the life of me i cant find an answer..are the sticky backs (plastic squares with double sided tape) ok for IVA am sure i read somewhere that a rivet should also be popped through as a second means of securing as well as the cable tie ???

You are correct - they won't accept just the sticky pad. I nearly failed my SVA because of this, but I was able to show that all but a few were in fact fixed with a rivet. Those that weren't couldn't be fixed, so he let me tie the loom off to some chassis members as 'backup'.

They are quite right to say this - those pads did in fact fail about a year later!

you can stick them on with epoxy if the surface isnt fibreglass or gets too hot - it works quite well (i tried it on the nose cone of mine to hold the front indicator wires on the back of the nose cone - seems ok so far) seeing as you cant rivet there
