What would you guys do ??

Been wrestling with this idea of quitting my build for quite some time now :(

My general health isn't what it should be at the moment and on the face of things, it is not going to improve anytime soon

I have more or less decided to sell up & buy myself a nice little Mk2 MX5 Roadster for a bit of instant open top motoring fun .... Yes, I know, it''ll never match the Roadster in the thrill stakes but it would suffice for now :)

What would you good folks do !!??

Sell up as one complete lot ( I do have a bargain basement price in mind )

Take the potentially more viable route of splitting the components up to sell sepperately ? .... Downside of this is the time it would take to advertise all of the parts & then packaging it all up.

So the burning question is, split or sell complete.

I would very much welcome the thoughts of you good folks :)

sell as spares :) reasons being:
1: separate sells always generate more money :P ( dunno why!)
2: i'm sure they maybe something i would like ;)

P.s hope you get better :)

It would be a shame to see you sell up Ronnie but as always to must put health & family first.

I suppose you need to look at it as if you want maximum value for what you have got, or minimum hassle by selling it complete. I guess your bargin basement price might have a big bearing on this.

Hi Ronnie.

This is a bit of a bugger after all the work you have put in :( . I can see your point about the compromise and still able to enjoy the open air.

As another option why not consider selling in lots, eg. front suspension, rear suspension, steering, chassis, bodywork, you get the idea,

All the best mate. :D

Another option, could you not get someone to finish it off for you?

Ronnie,
Do you need a helping hand or have you really decided enough is enough?

What sort of stage are you up to?

Mark

Parts always sell better than a whole project as it's less outlay in one go.

But think about it long and hard.

My Sierra has been off the road for 10 years and I just do 1 or 2 bits every now and then to move forward.

Sorry to hear your thinking of bailing, but health and family come first.
Trying to sell the parts can be a drawn out process and I always seem to be left with things I can't shift that end up going down the local tip even though they'd be useful to someone.
I would try to sell complete. May not make you as much money as selling the parts but it'll be gone in one go and if it doesn't go in reasonable time for a reasonable price then you could sell the parts.
BTW the MK1 MX-5 1.6 V spec would be much more fun than the MK2 any day
Feels like a proper sports car when set up properly - the Mk2 is too soft!
(I have a MK1 V spec as my daily driver - over the years tried to replace it with later models but they got moved on and the trusty MK1 V spec is still here....)

Good Luck with whatever you decide BV.

Hey Ronnie, you're welcome to pop over and take the wifes MK1 for a spin to see how you like it ;)
