small question on switch setup
Hey all, do you reckon I will be able to get away with having a main "key lock"IE a separte dash mounted ignition barrel, to operate a live feed then a flick switch for fuel pump and a flick switch for ignition then an engine start button? will mr iva not like this?
any info or experiences will be appreciated :) michael |
Why not a dash mounted key switch similar to a standard car one with off-acc-run then a separate start button. I wouldn't like the fuel pump on a switch incase it got turned off by mistake

Column Lock acts as one of the imobalisers that are required for IVA. Keeping it saves other hassle.

ideally id like as i said earlier with an electronic immobiliser maybe, or maybe im over engineering this , what do you reckon?

Replace the barrel.

Ring a few auto lock smiths, see if they have a Ford TIBB barrel decoder. And if so take your column along and they will read the lock and supply a new key.

You can buy a new ignition lock and barrel on ebay for less than 15quid.
