Side panel cutouts
I've sketched out a card template for the holes I need to cut in my side panel. I had originally intended to try to keep as much material as possible but - I am now wondering - will it be simpler / looks as good just to chop out the whole bit that i've shaded in the picture below?
The template is just to establish where the holes will go - the final holes will have rounded corners etc. [IMG][/IMG] |
Personally, I would offer it up to the chassis to see just how much of that area is hidden by the nozecone.
You will then get a view of what it will look like with that section removed. For what its worth, I removed that section from my alloy side panels. |

Cheers guys, another question - what radius do I need for the u trim to work? I guess it won't cover if the corner is too tight?

If I remember correctly. I used a 12.5mm drill bit for the small cut outs.
Used a hole cutter for the radius of the steering rack arm slots. If you look at the manufactures website for the trim you want to use, they should state the minimum radius for inside bends. |
