Hi Jas

A Zetec install could cost as little or as much as your budget will allow. ;)

My thoughts for what they are worth !!??

Cheapest: 1.8 Mk5 Escort Zetec lump & use the stock ECU.

Mid cost: Zetec with Megajolt, Edis4 setup & Bike carbs

Higher end: Zetec with Megasquirt & bike throttle bodies.

Cheers Ron!
Hope your keeping well mate.

Im just trying to price up weather its worth going for a zetec as apose to an R1 engine cost wise?

Roughly, what sort of monies would each of those set up's be, and how much of a challenge (read how much of a head f*ck) are they going to be to install?

Cheers again mate

i,d go for the new engine like Spud69 has done, i think it cost about £650ish for the engine, then bike carbs & a mega squirt/jolt/bolt thingy plus set up on rolling road etc, so i,m gonna say it,d be about a grand, sounds alot but thats a brand new engine that you know its not been previously abused etc.
i think some of the bike engines are very expensive cos the sellers know that kit car builders want them
good luck in your choice.
ps after iva my plan is to do the zetec 2ltr install as above.
cheers
andy
