Will 17" alloys be ok under standard arches

Doing some ebay hunting for some wheels...i know audi will fit my 5 stud granada PCD but will 17" be ok under standard arches ? 70 quid for a set of 4 and tyres...and think they will look pretty smart too

17" will go under the arches, but you'll have to go with a low profile tyre to fit. To be honest a 17" wheel and low profile tyre will ruin the handling of the car.

My slave weels are 17's but Peugot Offset, they just stick out of the rear arches so ford offset would be ok. Not sure on the front though.

AUDI/VW wheels will have a centre bore that is too small.

I suppose its a matter of turning down the od of the ford spigot or opening up the locating hole in the wheels. As the choice in ford 5 stud is very small.
