Steering rack shaft lengths ?
 
I have my front end loosly (sp) together and the tracking on the passanger wheel is a country mile out...i disconected the track rod end today and shifted the wheel to about straight..not perfect but close...and it looks like i need to lengthen my extension by about 40mm !! .my extensions are 130mm in total length...has anbody else had this issue...my rack i think is from a MK2 escort M14 threads so not MK1 ..???

I had problems with book extensions being too long but once i used shorter ones all was well, i cant remember what length though!

You should have the same problem both sides though as it should all be symmetrical, centre the rack on the car and also centre it lock to lock wise then work from there

I think the "body" of the extension should be c115mm. I can't remember how long the threaded section is.
