Andy B's Roadster in new hands

Hi All,

I have been on here for a while and asked a few questions and can now happily announce that my build has finally started as we have bought Andy B's part built roadster advertised on the form a few months back.

First of all I would just like to say what a top bloke Andy is; he was really helpful with the move. We got a transport guy to move it from Paisley down to West Yorkshire (right miserable sod) and Andy was great.

We finally got it into the garage and on axle stands this weekend, It looks like Andy has done a really good job but we are going to have a quick check of everything first and then start progressing the build over the winter. So we should have the first pictures on Wednesday.

I keep saying we as I have a partner in crime on the build; he's on the forum under the handlesforforks tag (see what he did there)

So here we go and as always a couple of questions.

1. Does the Sierra have a different propshaft depending on gearbox type? We have an MT75 and seen a few for sale but for a type 9.

2. Anyone got a pair of pro tech shocks for sale?

3. Would we be better putting Sierra uprights on the front as its has Granny ones at the moment?

Think that's it for now, really looking forward to the build only taken about a decade to get to this point.

Cheers.

type 9 and MT75 use different output joints.

But the best bet by far is to get a prop made up.

The granny hubs are a bit heavier, so a swap to sierra would save weight. Also the granny uses 5std wheels which are less common Cheep.

Also the strut adapter diameter is different AFAIK.

Sierra struts/mushrooms are 45.5mm and Granny struts/mushrooms are 50.5mm.

Thanks Guys.

The Granny uprights are on with correct Mushrooms, just wondered if they will make a big difference to steering/suspension as they are a bit bigger.

Dont mind the extra weight as such.

Anyone know a supplier where i can get the propshaft from with the correct input output end on?

Thanks,
