After i got the info needed for the vr sensor polarity i spent an hour in the garage today in -6 temperatures! to see if the engine would run on edis
Its a 1.8cvh on bike carbs and it fired up instantly! i was well chuffed
I revved it lightly a few times then switched off the ignition but the engine kept running
i thought it will cut out in a second but it didnt!
At this point i was worried about it getting too hot so i disconnected the negative from the battery to kill it...........................and it still kept running
I pulled off the plug leads to finally kill it, anyone know why this happened?

When i stripped the loom i found quite a thick power wire that only came on with 2nd turn of the ignition and was dead when the ignition was off, this is what i used to feed 3 seperate fuses for fuel pump, edis4 and the coilpack is it possible that when the engine is running that this stays live even when the key is turned off or do people think it is something else?
Also how was it running with the negative batery terminal disconnected, will that be power coming from the alternator?
I just wish i had filmed it for you all to laugh at, i was running around like i was in a Benny Hill sketch tying to stop it!
