Still couldn't get it off so screwed it all back on and had the neighboor flip it on the side so get at the bottom easier as he figured trying to put the gearbox onto the engine later would be really hard. So car on it's side managed to get the propshaft off along with disconnecting the speedo and clutch cables from the gearbox. I loosened all the bolts holding the gearbox crossmember so I could remove it easily when I take it back off it side. I couldn't figure out how to get the bell shaped thing off the crossmember to allow the crossmember to come off the gearbox though? Figured while it was on it's side it'd be worth getting everything off that I could see. There seems to be alot of small metal pipes that run in pairs down both sides of the car, are these the brake & fuel lines and started unclipping these everywhere. Some of them did go into what looks like a cylinder and was bolted on near one of the rear wheels, is this a servo of some kind? (my donor has drum brakes). Also how do you disconnect the pipes going into it? They seem to have a plastic end and swivel round easily? Is there anything else I should consider taking off now while the car is on it's side?
