The rv8 has little going for it asides from availability. Be sceptical when hearing power claims as well, it's s pig to get big power from And need huge money thrown at them to get truly impressive tunes. Good bhp can be had via forced induction but that puts even more strain on the minimal leftover space when in a seven type car.
If a v8 is essential I'd consider a small block ford along with an adaptor to take a box that's available in the uk (supra, jag, bmw). These engines will readily yield excellent power and are more compact. The exhaust face of the heads is angle down unlike the rv8 which is 90 degree from the road as such.
Another option and arguably the best for uk builders is the excellent Toyota v8 which is stronger, lighter and more compact than the rv8. It's also very cheap and more powerful not to mention a billion times more reliable. That'd be my choice, oh yeah!
