Hi Russ,

You have them in correctly, the offset should be at the front of the upright, what is happening is the effect of the steering rack operating on the hub, more commonly known as bump steer. You can reduce the effect of this by moving the rack up or down in the slots, however you wont remove it totally. don't worry too much about adjusting things until the car is built and on it's wheel.
