I would assume they are plated , and I certainly will be trying to avoid being out in crappy conditions.

Remember, these cars might only do 25% of the mileage of your daily driver, generally in better conditions. Therefor any likeleyhood of corrosion is significantly lessened.

It's not like they are totally hidden away either, so just keep an eye on them, and if any start to corrode, replace them.
