Davey,
Depending on what you are using it for then 128mb of memory is enough. if you are just using it for workshop stuff try this first.
- Click on the Start Button
- Right click on "My Computer"
- Click on Properties
- On the windows that pops up click on the advanced tab at the top
- Now click on the Settings button under the Performance heading
- On the performance options window select the Visual effects tab at the top and then click the radio button that says Adjust for best performance.
- Click on the advanced tab then at the bottom click on the Change button under the Virtual Memory Hadding
- On the virtual Memory window make sure the radio button next to "System Managed Size is selected" then click the "Set" button to the right.
- Click OK
- Click OK to the message abut restarting the computer
- Click OK on the Performance options Window
- Click Ok on the System properties Window
- Restart the computer
This will get rid of all the fancy look of Windows XP but will free up quite a lot of memory.
