Thanks adrian, it did help a bit. I must say making the circut with diodes etc is a bit daunting as I've never made anything electrical before! If I have to go down that route, can I get stuff like that from maplins or ebay? I have no idea what to look for as the codes quoted don't mean anything to me
I did come across this
