I,m in the same boat too, just ordered another load of edge trim....
I,m using the same edge trim I,ve used on the front cycyle wings for the curve part of the cockpit sides ( no SS1 parts , just the GRP tub ).
I,m thinking of covering the top rails of the cockpit using some hardboard/ camping mat foam covered in vinyl ( same as dashboard ) & using velcro or maybe even glue it place ( can,t see me ever needing to remove the side panels apart from a crash situation to replace/repair them
)
