Default Sealing between cockpit and engine bay?

Hi all,

I've spent some time over the weekend dry fitting my steering and pedal box. This has got me thinking about the engine bay and the cockpit bulkhead:

It it necessary for the bulkhead, that is the panels at the ends of the footwells (and I supose the transmission tunnel walls) and the panel on the front of the scuttle and below/infornt of it to be sealed?

Obviously from a fume, pong and druaght ingress in to the cockpit point of view it is a good idea to have it all reasonably air tight but will the IVA inspector being looking/examining the sealing of the cockpit from the engine bay?

I've just had a search of the IVA manual for a few terms that might indicate some requirement but found nothing.

Does any one know for sure, is it / or isn't it inspected?

Perhaps some members with IVA experience might like to comment.

Thanks,

Steve
