My accelerator cable goes through a short piece of tube welded into the bulkhead by the pedal and pushes against a washer on the threaded part of the cable to set the tension. This is ok normally when the cable is under any tension but worries me that if the cable gets slack the end of the threaded part can drop out of the end of the tube and then catch on it- this could happen if the pedal is floored and released quickly. Ive limited this to a certain extent by using cable ties to restrict the movement of the outer cable but i will be fabricating a light bracket to hold the threaded section of the outer cable tight up to the bulkhead tube that can be readilly unbolted in case the cable needs to be adjusted or replaced.
