With confidence building, a helmet, some cutting away surplus material below the scoop, and the addition of 9 Nr 35 mm holes in each side of the alloy panels, I was brave enough to head onto the main road.

Temperatures where significantly reduced, although oil was up to 98 degrees at traffic lights. Is this an acceptable range for normal road use.

Alarmingly, the oil pressure warning flashed a few times, but levels where fine. I am putting this down to a bad sensor and look to order a new one.
