Default throttle cable

HI all
How do we get the correct length of the throttle cable, i thought it was correct and now i find the nipple needs to be shorter than i had getting a bit peed off with the cable
any easy ways of doing it?

cut it down and put a solderless nipple on it?

I would use a solderless one to establish the length first then use a solder on one after as much stronger I think personally.
