Zetec Clutch release bearing !!
My new clutch arrived this morning.
The cover is a perfect fit to the Zetec flywheel & friction plate a direct fit to the Type 9 gearbox spline. Thanks for that tip Cozzer Here's my problem ..... The release bearing that my local motor factor got in for me is exactly the same as the old sierra one. It is supposed to be the CT133 bearing .... Took them 2 weeks to get it & cost £23 .... Non returnable as it was a special order I make this post in the hope that somone will know the difference between the two bearings .... I assume the CT133 is thicker than the Sierra one in order to give a longer throw !!?? I have searched every where .... Where can I buy the correct bearing ? Another thought .... Has anyone tried to raise the clutch fork pivot pin in order to gain a bit more throw ? Ohhhh I had best say 1.8 Zetec to type 9 gearbox

Hi Ronnie, I read a lot about zetec/type 9 clutches etc when I did mine and all I can say is there is a lot of misinformation out there! Lots of people who say you need this and that without doing the job themselves at all.
I used a 2 piece clutch QKT1905AF & a bearing CCT 132 not 133. Mine is in and running and clears fine. Hope this helps, Dennis |

Thanks Dennis
I am certain sure that the bearing that was got in for me is a CT132 May as well bolt the box on in the morning & see what sort of throw I have You were dead right about the bottom holes on the sump ..... Just as well I cut the minnimum off & took my measurements from the sump flange

Apologies Ronnie, I checked my receipts this morning and it was a 133 brg. I used, I wrote down that much tosh about what people said about this n that before fitting it that I got confused as to what I eventually used, but the receipt is correct and it was the only one I paid for so I`m sure, Sorry!

Hey Dennis .... No worries mate
I have certainly had a few of those moments during the build Did connect the engine & box this morning ( Was going too anyways ) With the original release bearing fitted, there isn't a lot of throw .... Did connect the cable & to my surprise it did just about diss-engage before the bearing arm hit the bell housing !! But that is far from ideal and the chances are, once the friction plate has bedded in there will certainly be a bit of cluch drag Rang one of the other local motor factors this afternoon, may have had a result. They are able to order from QH direct, he checked the computer & the CCT133 bearing is listed as still available from stock. I'll pop in tomorrow & get one ordered

you could modify the clutch arm to move it closer if you cant get the correct bearing.

I did have a good look at the task earlier .... In my own mind I was sort of thinking about fabricating a new arm that will accept the release bearing that came with the Mk1 Modeo cluch kit, that has all the right dimensions needed but fits to the arm differently !!?? In the event of needing a new clutch in the future it would be handy to have a nice simple 3 piece clutch kit change

I do look on the ole bay from time to time but never manage to spot one Mind you, I should have known better than to rely on Mill Auto to get the right part in for me I was assured that their part number was the the same as the CCT133 QH one .... Non returnable too Anyways, just a small hiccup & least I am making some good progress elsewhere & the spending is almost done
