Default First Start and R300 Win!

Ok I think everyone missed it on my build thread!
Got the beast fired up,
It was a bit hurried and after a 7 hour flight from dubai, but she's a runner.
I'll get a video up soon of the beast spitting fire with out a manifold.
This is with the standard carb with nothing else plumbed in on it other than fuel.
Ignition is just an edis and coil pack and a few cobbled together wires, its amazing how simple the basic circuit is!

Oh and we got our first win of the caterham R300 championship at Silverstone! Got shunted from the lead on lap 3 down to 14th what followed was some of the best caterham driving I've seen.
It you have a spare 30 minutes watch this you won't be dissappointed, my man certainly knows how to get off the line.

We did the test day, after the first test session the driver came in complaining of lack of front grip etc, I made one change and didn't touch the car again for setup so well chuffed to know we have it dialled in and really understand the car now.

Good drive, and excellent result. That sun must have been a problem. Well worth 30 mins.

Only got to watch first 3 minutes Mike, will watch the rest later tonight. Some great driving upto where he took the lead. Certainly no shortage of front grip from the bits i saw.

Well done you must be well chuffed.....AndyH

It was a great result, seeing your man emerge from the final corner to take the flag, couldn't quite beleive it.
Just proud that cars running my setup and winning in top flight of 7 racing.
Off to silverstone again this weekend for the Birkett 6 hour endurance, should be fun.
Glad you enjoyed the vid, there's some pretty hairy moves into a couple of corners and then two double slip streams on the back straight in consequtive laps to go from 5th to 1st!
Roll on next year for the title push!

Yeh guy martin was there, shook his hand after the first race.

He nearlly took us out when we lapped him though!
He didn't survive the first corner of the second race, good effort though don't think he'd been in one before and look to be suffering from a lot of lift off oversteer!
Like to know what he though of the racing compared to bikes!

Yeh should be able to set up the roadster a treat, apart from the compromised geometry at the front!

Tame compared to flying round the IOM I should think as nowhere near the speed and no brick walls and lamp posts to get in the way.

yes think it's tame compared to the danger of riding the tt for sure, but having 3 or 4 cars all turning into the apex of a corner at 100mph with room for one has got to be a rush? just wondered how it compared
