Default Zetec 2.0 & Automatic gearbox

We have just got ourselves a locost chassis that comes with a 2.0 Zetec apparantly out of a 2001 Mondeo.

Manual transmission is out of the question so we were wondering what automatic gearbox could be used with this engine, if any at all.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Joe

The A4LD from a sierra is your best bet.

They are quite heavy ( 75KG ) and quite wide ( especialy arround the valve block ). I think people usualy use CVH fly and clutch on the Zetec so you would be looking to find a 1.8 CVH Flex plate instead.

Auto 1.8's are not that common mind.

You may find a Pinto 2.0 with a A4LD ( about 1985 onwards I think up to 89 )

Also found in 1.8 and 2.0 Granada's

Having a bit of trouble finding an A4LD, would anyone know where the best places to look would be or know anyone selling one?

Thanks we scoured Ebay and ended up finding and bidding on an automatic gearbox from a 1975 ford cortina 2000E.

I will try to keep the thread updated with the progress of our build incase anyone else has the same question in future.
