Default Steering rack mounts

I've gone and fully welded in my steering rack mount as per my first edition book... quick look on here and I realise its wrong!!

The distance from the top of the bottom rails to top of rack mount is 80mm, not the correct 90mm. Is it worth grinding out and doing it properly, how much will it affect the steering geometry?

Cheers, Josh

Hi Josh, I would alter them to be honest, it will probably save you a lot of hassle later on. It may not seem a lot now but 10 mm will be a lot if you can`t get the rack high enough to eliminate bump steer or even look straightish when the car is rolling. Dennis.

You should be able to compensate for it with a 10 mm higher ride height.
