Cheeky burger ! Didnt see you jumping in the co pilot seat.
I never have been a good passenger and 3 laps or so was enough and I really did enjoy it,any more and I would have been sick as usual.
Thanks to Spud for the ride and it was good to catch up with you again Steve.
It was amazing to see how far a well setup car can be pushed and the roadster is a credit to Spud and his build and fine tuning of suspension etc make for some exciting driving and no doubt this is all put into practice in the Roadster parts etc they produce at Saturn (£50 in cash plz).
Plan for the next week is to be on her wheels

Regards All.

I,ve been out in Spud,s Roadster many times, both on track & the public roads & I totally agree with you Paul, his car is very well set up indeed,

The other major plus point is that Spud certainly knows how to drive his car

glad to hear you all had fun ..........& no sick bags were needed

can,t wait to be on track trying to catch Spud

cheers
andy

He did complain about the extra ballast stopping him reaching terminal velocity!

It was good fun !
As for sick bags try flying inverted for a while and then a couple of 720 deg barrel rolls

Cheers Andy, Paul, David and Steve - was a great night and the car behaved and drove excellently. Apart from the smaller rad having difficulties keeping it all cool, after 10 blasting laps had to be rested for 10 mins. Paul you say the car was lapping in 55 seconds, being a 2.1km track means that it was doing 86mph average on a rather tight track - quite surprised and chuffed with that.

The cool thing is the black Mk with a ZX14r engine in you can see behind me in the pic, we went out for a last blast together at the end and he couldn't catch me, if not loosing ground - not so much down the straight but certainly round the corners even with his R888's on. Car got upto to 115mph down the back straight then braking 50yds before the 60mph hairpin at the end. A real credit to Chris and his well designed car.

PS, STEVE please dont say anything to Davey - dont think he was too happy.....

Cheers....AndyH

Timed from chicane for 1 lap and yes 55 dead, friend of mine ran in his G20 Ginetta cup car down there and was doing 50's or so without running flat out but it is a race car and the lap record is something like 48sec but dont quote me.
I am sure you were closer than 50 yds from the bottom corner when you finally decided to brake and you could have gone round that Lotus like he had stopped on the inside,it looks tame from trackside but is a different kettle of fish from the left seat.

Thanks once again for the ride.

Best bit so far: Getting it running
Worst bit so far: Cutting steel for wishbones and engine mounts.
Most annoying bit so far: Generator packing up half way through welding.
