Default Coolant header tank feed

Does the coolant header tank have to feed the bottom hose, the reason i ask is that i don't think i'm going to have space at the front of the car cos I might have to put the charge cooler there?

Normal pactice to feed from the tank to the bottom hose and return to the top of the header tank otherwise you get flow problems and overheating.
