I tried to install a SOHC engine with EFI into the Roadster chassis and found it clashed with the wide scoop Saturn bonnet. I had 60mm interference with the engine/gearbox running along the chassis centreline, and ~20mm if they were angled to move the inlet manifold closer to the bonnet bulge.

If it's any help I can email you some photos to show where the clash occurred - you may be able to think of a better solution than mine which was buying bike carbs! Wish I'd known about the Equinox option back then
