Default Is this battery man enough?

One from Rally design!

http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product...ducts_id=14752

Would it be up to the job of powering a roadster do with think? It says its a racing battery, so does that mean that its only up to starting the car and running a fuel pump and ecu? Or would it be man enough to power lights ect too?

Cheers Guys

no the max charge rate is 6amp. most alts put out 40+ amps for charging. it also wont have the amp capacity to start the car. those batterys are purely used to run lights on race cars without altenators mainly as a weight saving exercise.

As Ash says, the cars these batterys are used are started with an external starter. Just buy a low powered car battery, not a bike battery as these tend to be lower quality.

personally id use a battery thats big enough for the donors engine as you still need to start the same engine and the charging system would work properly too without any worries
its the cca thats important
obviously if your going bec then you wont need a big battery the donor bike size one should suffice

Sorry guys, completely wrong.....we had samples of this battery starting a big V8 and running all the normal electrical stuff we have had on cars these days...it has been a Rally Design success...through our first batch of 500 batteries and next order imminent....it outsells Varley Red Top....many used on road kit cars....only had one return and that had been fiddled with...
