Default Not wanting to open old wounds but windscreen or Aero Screen?

OK this debate has been rattling around our kitchen since VMax bought his first bit of steel - whether to have a windscreen or this piece of carbon affectionately called an AeroScreen.

Firstly AERO is a chocolate bar and does not belong on the build - but I dont want rain in my face or to be eating flies (keep it clean) I would like to be able to hear VMax chattering whilst we drive along - so thoughts please, who has either - help me restore calm to our kitchen or convince me to have the chocolate bar screen

thank you

a windscreen will create more form drag and therefore use more petrol so he will have less money to spend on flowers for you

Saturn MX5 Based Chassis, Limited Slip Diff & 2.4 Quick Rack.

Build cost.... seems to be spending more on tools than car bits at the moment! (they will be handy in the future though).
Car iva'd and passed 15/08/2014. Finished weight 572kg.

Personally I had been considering this since my build started. I am going for a windscreen purely for those reasons, keep a little more of the wildlife out of my hair and teeth. I bought an extremely cheap locost screen off ebay and am in the process of modifying it to make it look right. Is a bit too narrow width wise and tall hightwise at the moment. Not sure at the moment whether to bother with wipers etc as it will be removes and retro fitted after iva to eliminate all the usual wiper, demister etc issues.

I'm sure I will not be the only member with an opinion so you will have plenty of other comments to fan the flames of the kitchen debate

I reckon half a screen on your side that gives you a make up mirror in the sun visor, that will also give your hair a fighting chance. Mr vmax can have the aero so he cant hear a word you say. Deep joy for all

well what ever you have at speed its going to be hard to hear whats what with the all wind noise
motorcycle helmets and a intercom and no screen is a good option

after all its a fair wether car so it only comes out when all the motorbikes do

kinda lost me with the technical details - but wipers are a must - gotta be able to see - and unless i am mistaken crash helmets dont have wipers - dont get me started on having pop up umbrellas for when it rains..... VMax goes potty when i start that, er.... discussion ...um

Usual thing is if u put screen on before iva I believe u must have demister, washers and wipers. I am thinking if I just use a screen but nothing else due to pretty low mileage I may get away with just cleaning screen occasionally. If not then probably make provision to fit something like landrover wipers or something like that. Shouldn't be that difficult either way......he says with fingers crossed!

well as a biker i have riden meny miles in all sorts of rain and its not to much of an issue
the faster you go the drips get pushed out to the sides by the wind as the visor is curved not flat like a windscreen
