Harness mount positions
Just a quick one !
Can anyone see a problem with the top harness mounts being on the cabin side of the rear roll bar ? I have bought some westfield harnesses that are snap fittings on the top and bolt in at the bottom but to get the best position for routing them around the seats means the eyebolt will be in / close to the main hoop pointing to the front of the car on the outer shoulder straps ?

I realise that my seats are not the same as per your fitment position but I,ve fitted the Hooped "eyelets" for the upper harness mount & covered them in trim ( securely ) & used a small split pin to stop the snap fitting from being opened, here,s 2 photos, MAYBE they are helpful ? cheers andy

Mmm bit of a problem there then ! My seats are f/glass i could cut some holes in the to allow the harness to pass through the seat itself ? Any probs there?

You don't have to put the harnesses through the seats, they can just go around.

It would be easier to go through the seat as i could locate them in the same manner as andy.
Do yours bolt all the way through andy into another thread ? I was just planning the nut welded onto the top of the crossbrace with a hole in the bar. Captive. Ut as it were ?

The tube should be threaded all the way through and the seat eye bolt long enough to go the length of the tube

Why can't the harness simply be looped around the crossbrace like in a rally car? Surely if it is good enough for the MSA and FIA it is good enough for IVA.

Does it state they have to pass all the way through in the manual or simply state they have to be secure ? The nut would be part of the crossbrace and the threads would be in safety and the lower brackets work in the same way ?
