I don't have an bonnet yet, but looking at my engine, the bonnet is going to need a power bulge in it. Once I've got some cash (and fabby has finished trying to break his body) I'm going to get my nosecone and scuttle.

If anyone has any info about how much space they have between thier bonnet and top chassis rails, I could compare that to how much my engine sticks beyond the chassis rail.

Default watch this space

The RS2000 engine is as far as I know the "OHC", also referred as the "Pinto".
This particular engine has number 205 in the block casting under the exhaust. It is the same engine as in the Book. (presumably Chris has a 185 block but it's only details and the cylinder capacity 1,8 liter against 2 liter that are different)

I am using this 205 block and made the engine supports as in the Book. And I've bought Fabby's nose and scuttle.

Watch this space, I'll take a picture showing what you want to see.
It will be hard to avoid a power bulge. The camshaft pully and the oil filler neck are just too high. You could mount the air filter away from the carburettor or have it sticking out of the bonnet.

The RS2000 in discussion here is the 16v DOHC model from the Ford escort MK5/6. Not the one from the MK2.

Hi

It depends if you are keeping the EFI or not. if yes you will have to cut the bonnet or make bulge!!!

Hi
Anymore picture? that looks great, is this your car? I have seen a few shortened manifold like that but have had a few firm opion that the system is so sensitive that would not work with this modification. It would be great to hear from someone who has already tried it!
