Default Battery

I've got to the point where I need to position my battery so that I can put the cabling in. I've got a couple of sierra sized batteries that a slightly too large to sit in the saturn scuttle tray.

If I bought a new battery what would be best to go for?

Or leave it for the minute and just bodge the cables untill I'm nearly finished, then tidy them up?

Do a lot of people end up putting them in the passenger foot well (missus is only 5ft so wont remove her leg room)?

Also if anyone has some pics of the battery/ cabling to started I would be very greatful
